Prevail Counseling

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and psychology resident in Utah and am the owner of Prevail Counseling PLLC. I received a Bachelors of Science in Marriage, Family and Human Development as well as a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I also recently completed my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Springfield College in Springfield, MA. I am currently working toward full licensure as a Psychologist. I operate Prevail Counseling with my marriage and family therapy license.

 

I have worked in a short-term psychiatric hospital, community mental health, university counseling centers, private practices, and a residential drug and alcohol facility.

 

As noted on other pages, one of my specialties is working with struggling teenagers. I have worked with teenagers struggling with self-harm, suicidal thoughts/behaviors, drug use, abuse, family issues, parents' divorce, and bullying. I particularly love breaking down barriers that impede connection with their parents to help them re-connect.

 

Another specialty of mine is working with young adults. I have worked in university counseling centers for multiple years. Ages 18-25 are very formative years and usually bring with them many challenges that can stretch a person to their limits. I work particularly well with this age group. 

 

Beyond being a therapist, I am an avid sport lover. I love playing basketball, baseball, running and biking. I am big believer that physical activity is essential to our mental health!
